Bans are permanent and tied to the account, not the hardware, meaning a new account is required after a ban.
How War Thunder Detects Cheating
EasyAntiCheat monitors the game process for unauthorised memory access, injected DLLs and known cheat hashes. It runs at kernel level on Windows and reports to Gaijin's servers. Detection also comes from server-side heuristics: impossible shot accuracy, abnormal penetration values, and movement that ignores terrain. Reports from players trigger replay reviews by Gaijin staff. Bans are account-level and permanent, covering all vehicles and progress. Hardware bans are not standard, though repeat offenders may face IP or device restrictions. EAC updates frequently, so outdated cheat builds are the most common cause of detection.
Setup and Launch Requirements
War Thunder must run in fullscreen windowed or exclusive fullscreen for most overlays to work correctly; borderless windowed can cause input lag and detection inconsistencies. Overlays from Discord, MSI Afterburner and GeForce Experience conflict with EAC and should be disabled before launch. Secure Boot is not required by EAC for War Thunder, but some cheat loaders may demand it. A spoofer is not needed for a first offence, as bans are account-level. Launch the game through Steam or the Gaijin launcher, not a custom executable, to avoid integrity checks.
