Rocket League cheats — setup, anti-cheat and safe settings
Rocket League is one of the few competitive titles left that does not ship a kernel-mode anti-cheat driver. Psyonix relies on server-side validation and, above all, on player reports reviewed by hand. That changes what matters: the build almost never gets caught by a scanner, it gets caught because an opponent watched the replay and filed a report.
What Rocket League actually detects
There is no driver loading at boot and no hardware fingerprint collected the way ACE or BattlEye do it. What the server does check is physics plausibility — inputs that imply a car turning faster than the chassis allows, or a touch registered outside the hitbox, get rejected or flagged. Everything else is human review. Psyonix bans in waves after reports accumulate on an account, which is why accounts survive for months and then disappear all at once.
Setup that avoids the obvious tells
Run the game in borderless windowed mode so the overlay composites cleanly; exclusive fullscreen will make the overlay flicker on capture. Turn off the Epic Games overlay before launching, since both hook the same present chain and the conflict shows up as stutter. If you record or stream, the overlay is drawn outside the swap chain and will not appear in OBS — but it does appear in Rocket League's own replay files, so do not upload replays from a session where you used it.
Settings that keep ball prediction believable
Prediction lead time above roughly 1.2 seconds produces rotations no human makes — you arrive at a bounce before the ball has visibly changed direction, and that single frame is what gets clipped and reported. Keep lead time under a second and leave aerial assist smoothing high. The point is to be consistently good rather than impossible: a 15% improvement in touch accuracy climbs ranks quietly, while perfect aerials in Champ lobbies get reviewed within a week.
Where it is not worth the risk
Do not load it in Rocket League Championship Series qualifiers or third-party tournament platforms. Those organisers review submitted replays frame by frame and share ban lists with Psyonix, and a tournament ban reaches the main account regardless of what the in-game anti-cheat saw.
