PUBG Cheats and Anti-Cheat: A Reference Guide
PUBG uses BattlEye on PC, with additional server-side detection and a report-driven review system. Enforcement is account-level, so a ban removes your Steam account's access to PUBG rather than blocking your hardware, though repeat offenders can face hardware bans in extreme cases. In practice, this means detection relies on behavioural analysis and manual review of reports, not just signature scanning.
How PUBG Detects Cheating
BattlEye runs alongside PUBG on PC and scans for known cheat signatures, injected code, and suspicious memory modifications. Detection is primarily account-level: a ban locks your PUBG access on that Steam account, but does not automatically block your hardware. However, BattlEye and Krafton have issued hardware bans for repeated or severe offences, particularly in ranked and tournament play. Server-side systems also flag statistical outliers, such as improbable headshot ratios or movement patterns, which feed into manual review. On console, enforcement is handled by the platform holder and Krafton's own server-side checks, with no BattlEye client.
Setup for PUBG: Display and Overlays
PUBG performs best in fullscreen mode, as borderless windowed can introduce input lag and trigger BattlEye's focus checks. Overlays from Discord, GeForce Experience, and RivaTuner often conflict with BattlEye's integrity checks; disable them before launch. Secure Boot is not required for PUBG, but some cheat loaders ask for it to ensure a clean boot environment. A spoofer is generally unnecessary because bans are account-level, though if you have previously received a hardware ban, a spoofer is needed to bypass the HWID block. Always launch PUBG through Steam after any loader has initialised.
Useful Features in PUBG's Format
PUBG's large maps like Erangel and Miramar reward information: a subtle ESP that shows enemy positions only within 200 metres and avoids drawing through solid cover looks like good game sense. Aim assist should be limited to smoothing recoil on weapons like the Beryl M762 or SLR, with a low FOV and slow target switch to mimic human tracking. No-recoil on full-auto is suspicious; use it sparingly on the AKM or M416. Avoid obvious features like speed hacks or teleporting, which are easily caught in killcams. In ranked modes, radar-style features are more detectable due to server-side checks, so stick to visual-only ESP.
Where the Real Risk Lies in PUBG
Killcams and replays are the biggest risk: they show your crosshair placement and tracking in detail, and players frequently report suspicious footage. Spectating teammates or enemies can expose your ESP if you pre-aim at unseen targets. Small lobbies, such as late-night squads or custom matches, increase the chance of running into the same players who will notice patterns. Statistical outliers like a 40% headshot rate or consistent 180-degree flicks will trigger BattlEye's server-side flags. Report flows are quick in PUBG, and manual review of reported clips is common, so avoid behaviour that looks unnatural under scrutiny.
