How Payday 3 Detects Cheating
Nebula monitors heist completion data, loot values, kill counts and mission timings against expected thresholds for each difficulty and map. The system flags statistical outliers such as completing Road Rage under three minutes or extracting with unusually high loose loot totals. Detection is account-level: bans apply to the Payday 3 profile and linked Steam or Epic account, not the physical machine. Starbreeze has not confirmed hardware bans, though repeated offending on the same hardware may trigger manual review. Reports from other players feed into the same review queue, particularly in public matchmaking where heist performance is visible to the full lobby.
Setup and Launch Requirements
Payday 3 requires a 64-bit Windows 10 or 11 system with the game running in fullscreen exclusive mode to avoid input latency that makes aim assistance obvious during timed heists.
