The client performs limited local checks, but bans and match invalidation are driven by server telemetry and player reports. NetEase handles detection server-side, with no kernel-level anti-cheat product named in the client. The game logs aim vectors, reaction times, movement paths and ability usage, and flags statistical outliers for manual review. Reports from other players feed directly into that queue. Bans are account-level by default; hardware bans are applied only in repeated or egregious cases, and they are tied to the machine fingerprint rather than a single IP. Display, Overlays and Launch Setup
Run Marvel Rivals in fullscreen exclusive rather than borderless windowed, because the game's own frame pacing and input latency behave more predictably that way. Use low-FOV aim smoothing on hitscan heroes such as Hela, Punisher and Black Widow, and avoid snap-to-head behaviour entirely on projectile characters like Iron Man and Spider-Man, where it reads as unnatural. In Convoy and Domination modes, a faint outline through walls is enough to pre-aim common chokes on maps such as Yggsgard and Symbiotic Surface. Keep triggerbot off during ultimates; the burst damage pattern is the easiest thing for a reviewer to flag in a replay.
Where the Real Risk Sits
The killcam and post-match replay are the primary exposure points in Marvel Rivals, because they show your crosshair placement from the victim's perspective. Spectating teammates and opponents in Quick Match also exposes tracking that looks too clean.
