Dune: Awakening runs on a custom server-authoritative model and does not ship with a named kernel anti-cheat such as BattlEye or EasyAntiCheat; enforcement is server-side and report-driven, with Funcom moderating player reports. In practice this means client-side detections are minimal, so behavioural review and statistical anomalies carry more weight than signature scans.
How Dune: Awakening Detects Cheating
Dune: Awakening does not use BattlEye, EasyAntiCheat, Vanguard, ACE, VAC, FACEIT, Denuvo Anti-Cheat or any other named kernel driver. Detection relies on server-side validation of movement, damage and resource transactions, plus manual review of player reports by Funcom. Bans are account-level: a flagged account is suspended or permanently closed, and the associated Steam or Epic identity is recorded. Hardware-level bans are not applied for this title, so a new account can be created on the same machine, though repeat behaviour across linked accounts may attract attention. There is no client-side memory scanner to evade, but server logs of impossible shot placement or resource duplication remain the primary evidence used in enforcement.
Display, Overlay and Secure Boot Setup
Run Dune: Awakening in exclusive fullscreen rather than borderless windowed, as the latter can introduce frame pacing variance that makes aim adjustments look jerky in server-side movement logs. Discord and Steam overlays are generally safe, but third-party capture tools that hook DirectX can conflict with the game's own anti-tamper checks on resource values; disable them if you see transaction errors. Secure Boot is not required and a spoofer is unnecessary because there is no hardware ban to bypass. Do not launch any external tool before the game client has fully connected to a server, as early injection can trigger a silent flag on the account.
Features Worth Using in Arrakis Gameplay

The game's survival and crafting loop rewards silent resource duplication far more than combat cheating, because the Deep Desert PvP zone is where most reports originate. Use a low field-of-view aimbot with a visible-only check and a random delay of 150 to 250 milliseconds, so your shots on a Sardaukar patrol or a player in the Cradle Basin look like deliberate leading. Avoid silent aim entirely, as the server-side hit validation on projectile weapons will log impossible angles even if the client shows a hit.
Realistic Risk: Reports and Statistical Outliers
The actual risk in Dune: Awakening comes from report flows, not automated detection. The game has no killcam or replay system, so players cannot review your shots directly, but spectating after death is available in the Deep Desert PvP zone and in the Hagga Basin, and a suspicious observer can file a clip with Funcom support. Small-group play on a private server makes statistical outliers obvious: extracting spice at a rate far above the server average, or winning every duel in the Cradle Basin, will be noticed by the same few players. Tournaments are not an official feature, so the main exposure is a manual ban after several corroborating reports across a week of play.
